About Us

It all started in Belleville…

While living in Paris for a season, illustrator Michelle Christensen was inspired by the arrondissement of Belleville.

Belleville was a place full of diversity, which reminded Michelle of her childhood abroad, so she took that inspiration home with her and named her brand My Little Belleville.

Michelle always wanted to have a little bit of Paris with her, wherever she went.

Michelle began MLB in Salt Lake City with her signature faces and illustrations put on ceramics and other delightful objects. This caught the eye of Anthropologie, who soon carried her work.

Michelle moved to London, UK and continued working and selling her wares from her tiny studio apartment and selling to local shops and in markets (like Portobello Road and Renegade London) This was also when Michelle was inspired to begin her Lover’s Eye collection, and began painting rings and selling them.

After moving back to the USA, Michelle was hired to design for Anthropologie's Home Department and oversaw the design of garden and decorative accessories. Michelle’s team designed some of the best-selling products in the Home Department, and you can still catch a glimpse of Michelle’s signature ink-work in some of the pieces still sold there.

Since then Michelle has designed for prominent companies like Hallmark, Ellen DeGeneres, Interior Define, Freshly Picked, Terrain, among many others locally and abroad.

My Little Belleville has grown a cult following of film directors and other creatives across the film and music industry. My Little Belleville has been worn by celebrities like Lena Headey, Mary Elizabeth Ellis, Sky Katz, Susan Sarandon, Dayna Isom Johnson, and Ali Fedotowsky.

My Little Belleville has been featured in Martha Stewart, Country Living, Glamour, Olive Magazine, Frankie Mag, and Forbes.
